Why is the home self-run?

Self-help is the bedrock of sobriety. Each member of the home should be working a program and make sobriety their number one priority. Harmony in the home is a result of that work.

Who manages the home?

The home is democratically run. What that means, specifically, is that the residents of the home elect officers who serve a six month term. There is also a regular house meeting where every resident of the home participates in managing the home.

How long can someone stay at the Oxford House?

A resident can live in the home as long as they do not drink alcohol, use drugs, and continue to pay the rent and their equal share of house expenses. There is no pressure for one to move on after any period of time.
